Christmas Eve Candlelight Memorial and Communion Service

The sanctuary doors of First Church will stay open between the hours of 6:00 and 8:00 p.m. on Christmas Eve to encourage members and friends to come reverently into the holy shrine. The simplicity of the setting will urge individuals to spend time in private prayer and reflection as they remember Christ’s earthly sacrifice for them. Communion elements representing Christ’s body and His blood, shed for mankind, will be served by Pastor Ken Pierce. The sacred essence of the experience is intended to foster gratefulness for Christ’s love and personal commitment to a life of Christian service. 

A candlelight memorial, set up in the rear of the church sanctuary, will add to the ambiance of the surroundings. A name placard by each lit candle will memorialize a member of the church family who died during 2019.
