FIRST CHURCH DAYTON
is a member of the United Methodist denomination.
This global denomination with more than 12 million members seeks to fulfill its stated mission of making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. Early Methodists emphasized Christian living which put faith and love into action. That fundamental belief continues to be a hallmark of the congregations of the United Methodist Church today.
The following statements succinctly affirm the theology of First Church Dayton:
We believe in God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
We believe in Jesus Christ as our Savior and Lord.
We believe that the Bible is the Word of God.
We believe that we are called to advance Christ’s kingdom locally and globally through prayer, personal relationships and compassionate actions and by telling others about our faith.
